Tourism is undoubtedly one of the main industries in Cumberland County. The county is rich in nature and wildlife attractions, as well as historic buildings and cities. This makes it a popular destination for tourists. In fact, the county is classified as a gold-tier destination by the Tourist Sevice Council of America (TSCA). The council’s goal is to generate more revenue for the county through tourism, and they have sought to achieve this by boosting hotel room rates and increasing the amount of tax revenue per available room. The county government therefore actively encourages tourism through various initiatives.
