What to Look Forward to Post Lockdown

The countdown to summer is on and the roadmap back to normality along with the speed of the vaccine rollout has given people a new sense of optimism about the next few months. People are now beginning to think about what they can do post-lockdown and there are certainly a few things that people will be looking forward to once restrictions begin to ease.

Going to the Pub With Friends

Top of the list for many people will be going to the pub and out to eat with friends, which is something that many people have greatly missed over the last year. Now with the weather improving, people will be desperate to sit in a pub garden enjoying a few drinks with their friends – just be warned, it will be busy everywhere!

Day Trips

With people having to spend so much time inside and in their local area, day trips will be another thing that people will be looking to do as soon as it is allowed. In particular, trips to the coast on a warm day will be popular especially to places like Brighton. You could look to catch a train travelling to Brighton as this is an easy way to travel, plus you do not have to worry about parking which can be an issue in Brighton (especially in the summer!).

Getting a Haircut

It is fair to say that the hairdressers will be busy once lockdown ends as getting a haircut is one of the things that people will have missed the most, plus people will want to look their best for when they can finally socialise again. Unless you don’t mind a lengthy wait, this means that you might want to book an appointment or visit during off-peak hours.

Go to an Event

Remember events? Again this is something that people have sorely missed whether this is going to a football match, going to a gig, comedy show, theatre production or anything else. Understandably, there is still a lot of caution surrounding events but there are some (including festivals) that are planning to go ahead this summer.

See Family

One of the hardest parts of lockdown has been not being able to see family, especially in such worrying and stressful times. While Zoom has done a decent job, it does not compete with visiting family at home and spending quality time together which is something that people will prioritize when it is safe to do so.

The list is very long for things that people want to do after lockdown and this summer with these being just a few of the main activities.
