Tiles are one of the best options for any floor, especially in places where the floor is likely to get wet. However, interior tiles tend to have a smooth finish. This can make them slippery, especially if something has been spilled on them. Fortunately, there are several things you can do to make a tile floor less slippery without having to replace the floor.

Foam Flooring
Foam flooring is generally less attractive than carefully positioned rugs. However, it is a practical solution for slippery floors, especially if you need something in a workshop, home gym, or even a playroom.

Anti-Slip Compound
There are a variety of anti-slip compounds on the market. You can take a look at what is on offer and then choose the compound that is best suited to the type of tiles you have. You’ll then need to follow the instructions regarding how to apply the anti-slip coating to your floor.
It is worth noting that as well as getting a compound to clean your floor with, you can use adhesive treads. These are strips that stick to your tiles. The top is like the surface of a skateboard ensuring you have good grip and won’t slip.
These treads can be bought in black or transparent, allowing you to effectively make them invisible in your room.
Floating Floor
Perhaps the most extreme option is to simply add a new floor over the tiled one. You may be able to add laminate flooring straight to the tiles or buy tread plates.
