5 Things to Consider When Choosing Curtains or Blinds

On average, it could cost anywhere between $200 and $5,000 to install new blinds for your windows.

Because of how costly it is, you should make sure that you decide now whether you want curtains or blinds.

However, there are plenty of factors to consider before making your choice. We’ll break them down here!

One thing that you should consider is the safety of your home.  Even if you live in one of these attractive neighborhoods, you’ll still want to make sure that you have some privacy in your home.

However, depending on the curtains or blinds you choose, you may not be able to have total privacy in your home.

If you want curtains to guard your home’s windows, you may not be able to get full coverage. However, many blinds that are sold now come without cords so that you don’t have to worry about it becoming an issue with any young children in the home.

Color and Fabric

If the fabric is too light or heavy, it may not work well with your windows. This might be when you want to choose blinds. However, you should also consider that the sunlight beating down on your curtains will eventually cause the color to fade, making you have to buy new curtains.

If you’re worried about this, it might be better to just go with some blinds.

Before you buy curtains or blinds, make sure that you factor in the length of your windows and how much lighting you want.

If you want curtains, you can put the panels higher than the window which can make the room feel taller. You won’t be able to get this illusion with curtains.

However, if you just have blinds, you can make the room feel more open without having anything hanging by the windows.

Make sure that you sit down with your budget and figure out what you can afford.

Curtains come in all kinds of different prices, so you will be able to find one that fits into your budget. However, if you’re going to be installing brand new blinds on all of your windows, this price can really add up as we mentioned earlier.

If you’re looking for a more budget option, you should definitely consider the curtains.

You’ll also have to consider the function of what you want. Do you want curtains to create a certain look in your home? Do you want to completely block out the sunlight?

If so, you should probably go with curtains.

However, if you just want some privacy and to block out a little bit of light, you should install blinds in your home.
